After what feels like ages, Aaron and I have finally chosen our wedding venue: Elizabeth.
Elizabeth is a restaurant and bar located in Nolita (for you New Yorkers, it’s in Rialto’s old spot). They have modern food, awesome cocktails, elegant black-and-white decor, and an outdoor garden. In short, pretty much everything we were looking for.
In addition to the wedding, we’ll also be hosting our afterparty here. So it’s a one-stop-shop!
Check out their web site for more information, or look at the pictures here:

I stumbled across this dress months ago and thought it was gorgeous. However, it sold out almost immediately. So I was thrilled when I found it again on Bluefly.com — this time for half the original price! I figured it was meant to be, so I ordered it. I’m always a little hesitant to order clothes online, especially something so important as a wedding dress. Obviously if things don’t look right I’ll return it, but still, I’m excited!

This doesn’t have anything to do with the wedding really, but it’s rare to find a photo of us both looking so nice so I thought I’d post it. Here we are all gussied up for the Webby Awards. We had a great time!

This weekend Aaron and I were walking around Soho, shopping for some fancy clothes for the Webby Awards, when we decided to drop into the Stuart Moore store to take a look at wedding rings. Aaron bought my engagement ring (a Niessing tension setting) at Stuart Moore last year, so we were hoping to find the matching wedding band.
The bad news was that Stuart Moore doesn’t carry the plain Niessing wedding bands, but that didn’t turn out to be a problem. Aaron and I both picked out Stuart Moore original pieces that look great together.

- On the left – My engagement ring (newly shined, yay!) gets blinged out with a diamond eternity band.
- On the right – Aaron wanted plain and simple, and he found it in this platinum ring.
Even though none of these three rings was meant to go together, I think they make a really nice set.
We’re having the rings shipped to my parents in Phoenix, who will bring them out for the wedding in October. There are two good reasons for this: first, we saved $700 by avoiding New York State sales tax, and second, this way I won’t be tempted to wear my pretty new ring before the wedding!
